Mega Ran is heading to Japan with Phill Harmonix, but to do so, he’s looking to his fans for help. Instead of going down the Kickstarter road, he’s decided to fund the trip with some sponsorships. More importantly to those of us who love his music, he’s also released a new EP, The Returners, to make up the rest of the money he needs for the trip. From what I’ve listened to so far, it’s a really strong collaboration with Phill Harmonix, a guy who I’m definitely going to be looking up the second I’m done typing this article. The two of them just sound great together, and from the few songs I’ve already listened to (Epiclesis and Been A Long Time) it sounds like it’s going to be one of my favorite Mega Ran albums.
Now, not only is this a really great album, but it’s also one you can pay whatever you want for. Just the digital copy, mind you, but you can still take this great EP on the road with you by paying whatever you’d like for it. The suggested donation is seven dollars, but no one will judge you if you pay less (I’m judging you). For fans who really like his music (And this collaboration is excellent), you can snap up a copy of a physical CD that’ll be mailed out in a week or two. You might want to jump on that CD if you want it, though, as there’s only seventy-five copies available.
You’ll also want to jump on paying what you want as well, as that deal is only running until they leave for Japan. That’s happening some time today, so if you want some solid music for whatever you’d like to pay for it, you’re gonna need to go buy it on whatever device you happen to be sitting on right now. Boss’ computer? Your kid’s cell phone? Tablet where you’ve got three adult video tabs open? Stop whatever you’re doing and go grab the album now!
