McDroid Coming To Steam This September

Help McDroid save M this September.

McDroid, a game I had a great time playing at PAX East 2013, is set to launch on September 5th on Steam.  In McDroid you take control of a doggy robot with a talkative friend who just so happens to be a shuttle.  After returning home to your planet, M, you find that it’s lobotomized and now you need to heal.

Defend your shuttle against a variety of crazed alien species as they mutate, corrupt the ground or even turn your crops against you. Load up on weapons, bring your friends (drop-in/drop-out co-op) and take the battle to them. If it gets too crazy, turtle up behind your defensive perimeter and assume direct control of the turrets. It will challenge your trigger finger and your wits as you multitask running, shooting, building your base, harvesting, repairing, protecting, upgrading and researching all at the same time.

Players can mount weapons onto McDroid to fight or mount them on defense turrets while you attend to other tasks like collecting strawberries (obviously the currency of the future) to purchase and upgrade weapons.  As you complete levels you’ll be able to unlock challenge and nightmare modes of each, and if you’re having trouble you can bring a friend in for co-op.  You can check out the video below to see how the game plays, and if you’re interested, keep an eye on their Steam page.
