HAWKEN is Headed to Steam

Something that I’ve been wanting for a long time is finally happening — HAWKEN is coming to Steam.  HAWKEN users should expect a patch on February 11th that, along with some balance changes, will officially begin the transition to Steam.  I can’t confirm if the Steam client will be available to everyone on the 11th, but I would assume so.

If you’re currently a HAWKEN pilot you should be receiving a key that will allow you to access the Steam client early.  If you’re currently not a HAWKEN pilot you will need to wait until the Steam client is released to everyone since new account creation has been disabled to help facilitate the transition.  After the transition is complete the standalone HAWKEN client will no longer work, so if you want to keep your HAWKEN play uninterrupted I suggest you get the new client when they send you your key pilot.  This transition is not without some hiccups however, and you can check this list to see some problems you might run across that Meteor Entertainment is aware of.

See you on the battlefield, and pilots, when the herd of noobs come rolling into the servers try to take it easy on them… Sike. Show them what being a pilot really means.
