Just Dance 3

Ubisoft just rocked our world again with another installment to their popular rhythm games series with Just Dance 3. Luckily for everyone rhythmically challenged, you still don’t have to know how to dance just to wow your guests as you shake your rump to the newest assortment of songs. Just Dance 3 may not be able to stand up to the likes of more complicated games like Dance Central, but it is a lot more casual crowd-friendly for many gamers. With a host of new songs and modes, you’re bound to be dancing for hours on end.

The visuals of Just Dance 3 aren’t much better than what was seen in Just Dance 2, but it still looks stylish. This game is beautifully colored for every song and makes it easy for anyone to keep up with the action or just treat as a spectator sport. Just like in the previous Just Dance games, Ubisoft makes things convenient for players to follow along by illuminating the corresponding movement hand for the player.

With 45 all new tracks taken from Billboard and top-charted hits, this game definitely shows that there’s a dance groove for everyone  out there. Fun and familiar songs like “This is Halloween” from The Nightmare Before Christmas are part of the song selection. For those whose dance moves look like a train wreck, each track now provides on-screen lyrics for those looking to sing along. Just Dance 3  provides up to 4 concurrent dance routines so each player can take turns stealing the spotlight like an adrenaline fueled pre-Madonna.

Just Dance 3 comes with all of the standard series modes like Classic Mode, Duet Mode, Simon Says, and more. There is also the popular Party mode which continuously plays songs without needing to mess around with menus. One new mode in Just Dance 3 is “Hold My Hand Mode” in which 8 players share 4 Wii-motes and dance together to try and get the highest score possible.

The scoring system in Just Dance 3 is a little more detailed when compared to it’s predecessors. With it, players are rated on different criteria such as style and energy. The new scoring system helps to bring a lot more competitive fun to the party, without needing to resort to a simple points system. Even if a player does not manage to break any records with his or her score, rewards are still achievable.

Just Dance 3‘s new songs and modes are a lot of fun and the wonderfully choreographed dances and co-op get that enjoyment going. The new scoring system makes the game a lot more exciting and the wide range of modes make this a fun party game. Ubisoft has done a great job with Just Dance 3 and easily meets all the expectations of diehard series fans.
