Halo 5 as an eSport, DMCA changes, Nintendo's push into mobile, Arkham Knights is still broken on PC, and more on this Mashcast....
On this week’s Mashcast Jarret sees fit to give some excellent advice (if he must say so himself) to Harmonix and Konami. They both need it as Harmonix appears to be reviewing their own product positively (bad form Harmonix, bad form…) and Konami is in denial about Kojima leaving the company. According to Konami, Kojima and his team are on a post-launch vacation, and they have no idea about his going away party. The same going away party that has tweets and Instagram posts associated with it. YouTube has content creators up in arms about YouTube Red – their new subscription service that will have content locked behind it. Let’s see the real power of YouTubers now.
Ubisoft is feeling pressure from Vivendi, who purchased over 10% of their stock last week. Ubisoft doesn’t welcome this advance, and is assuring their employees that they are doing everything they can to not be taken over. Ubisoft is also trying to get cozy with the PC community by joining OGA in hopes of better understanding the PC gaming community. It’s actually pretty simple to understand PC gaming, and we discuss points on that. Actually we discuss everything I just mentioned and more on this episode with guest host Jovan Branch.
Jarret is Executive Director as well as one of the founding members of Mash Those Buttons. He plays all types of games, but tends to lean more toward FPS, Stealth, and Combat games.
Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
We welcome 2025 with some fresh patch notes for 11.1! Also, there are bugs on Siren's Isle!
Ryder and team may have missed out on the events of ME2 by leaving the galaxy but the Kett are determined to fix that.
For our 400th episode, we're sharing our takes on the FGC and fighting games from the past 10 years, and discuss what we want to see in the next 10.
We discuss the connections between character designs, martial arts inspirations, and player experiences in fighting games with Blackmore2323.
