It’s looking like video game voice actors may be going on strike. They are looking for more compensation based on the success of a game, as well as some additional safeguards in the work place like onsite trainers for when they need to do mocap stunts. Voice acting is a huge part of games these days (especially in games like Uncharted), but is it critical enough to demand back pay from profits? I’m sure Kojima would say no to that… Speaking of worth, we discuss an article that says Destiny’s The Taken King was worth $60, and of course we disagree. We also find that Amazon is trying to push further into the gaming space with Amazon Fire TV Gaming Edition. We just can’t figure out who their target audience is.

A bit of surprising news was that Rainbow Six Siege is multiplayer only. While that means the multiplayer experience should be perfect, it leaves a huge question of whether or not it’s worth the $60 asking price. They say they will be giving new maps for free, but how often and how many? Finally we talk about E-Sports taking off on TBS. 20 weeks of CS:GO is scheduled for 2016 on the network, but is the world ready? How much will this help e-sports? How will they supplement the interactivity of Twitch and YouTube?

Jovan “SageInfinite” Branch jumps on this episode with us to discuss these topics and more on this weeks Mashcast.

Hosts

Jarret Redding

Jarret is Executive Director as well as one of the founding members of Mash Those Buttons. He plays all types of games, but tends to lean more toward FPS, Stealth, and Combat games.

Nick Zielenkievicz

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
