The Core is Small But Mighty
Pokemon terrorist threats, Nintendo NX(?) patents, FTC violating Youtubers, the size of the core gaming market, and more on Mashcast #155....
After taking a few unexpected months off, the Mashcast is back! Nick, Jarret, and guest host Jorge talk about what they’ve been up to the past few months, and Nick seemed really keen on talking about PT. Speaking of PT, Guillermo Del Toro I saying he’s done with games development, but it’s mainly to keep from hurting others. Another surprise was that someone called in a bomb threat to a GamerGate panel, the surprising part being that the panel was pro-GamerGate. Among other things we talk about more franchises possibly coming to Heroes of the Storm, Playstation Plus members being able to vote on games, a Nintendo employ getting fired for being on a podcast, MLG making major strides in Ohio, and Crackdown 3’s use of the cloud in multiplayer.
Jarret is Executive Director as well as one of the founding members of Mash Those Buttons. He plays all types of games, but tends to lean more toward FPS, Stealth, and Combat games.
Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
Arriving on the Nexus: The Leusinia, Angaran diplomats, & an angry Firefighter terrorist. Departing the Nexus: sickness!
What makes fighting games unique, the impact of modern trends, and the significance of community and representation within the genre.
Rounding up the second 7.2 Live Letter preview and patch notes just prior to release.
Jaal doesn't want Ryder to kill Akksul, but maybe Ryder has an itchy trigger finger. And by Ryder we mean Nick.
