Assassins Creed Brotherhood [Dev Diary]

Over at Joystiq is a glimpse into the new material being presented by one of my FAVORITE games of all time…Assassins Creed.  Mind you the first iteration of this series was not up to par of the second, but it did lay the foundation for the sequel.  This franchise has some of the greatest script writing I have seen for a game.  It should…considering how much is riding on this next episode.  No one wants this franchise to move backward…

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will not be the third portion of the story, but will be more of a “Part Two,” of the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed 2.  Below is the video:

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

The video shows us one of the newest capabilities of a more mature Ezio is the ability to recruit members for your own brotherhood of Assassins.  I have to say…this…is…AWESOME!  The one scene in the video where the producer is talking about how he was playing the game and he called forth his Assassin’s was absolutely breathtaking.

They are pulling out all the stops with this game, but they are not veering away from what worked in the Assassins Creed 2.  The combat system will be revamped along with new features of being able to battle on horseback, or starting your free-run from horseback.  I will imagine the movements of Ezio will be even smoother than the last game.

I have tremendous faith in this groups ability to bring forth what will likely be THE game of 2010.  Last year, the game of the year, to me, was Assassin’s Creed 2.  I will say that this game will not fail.  It will bring story-telling game-play, with great combat features, excellent controls, and breathtaking graphics to our consoles come November 16th, 2010.

Also, for our followers…

I will be recapping the great storyline of Assassins Creed 2 with a montage of video clips of both in-game and cut-scenes during the game.  I will try and bring this to you right around mid-October, but no later than November.

Thanks to Xbox.com for the Screenshots.
