Remedy Addresses Fans About the Alan Wake Sequel (that’s not happening).

Looks like Microsoft doesn't appreciate the long game.

During the XBox One reveal we got a glimpse of Remedy’s newest game: Quantum Break.  While it’s great to see Remedy is going to have a new IP for XBO, it also raised some questions regarding Alan Wake 2.  To answer fans questions Remedy’s Creative Director, Sam Lake (also known as Max Payne), posted a video on YouTube explaining why Alan Wake 2 hasn’t happened.  You can watch the video above, but the short story is that due to Alan Wake’s poor sales at launch they were unable to get the financial support they needed to produce a worth successor for Alan Wake 2.

This isn’t an uncommon occurrence (Mirror’s Edge anyone?), so I can’t say I’m surprised.  Hopefully this message will drum up enough support from Alan Wake fans to show Microsoft that people would love to give them money for another Alan Wake game.  Perhaps when they get finished with damage control they can start looking into it…
