I’m not exactly sure what event this was held at but apparently Kinect failed not once, but twice during a demo. The first video is a game where the players run in place to run on the track. It seems to work at first, but then quickly decides to take a break.
There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.
The second video is a demo of Harmonix Dance Central. This one appears to be going well, until a gesture pauses the game. That kind of kills the mood.
Failures like this aren’t really helping put consumer confidence into Microsoft’s newest offering. It also raises questions about how orchestrated their E3 press conference demo was. I guess only time can tell. The real test will be when consumers bring Kinect into their home.
