The details are relatively scarce, but EA’s UK division has confirmed Eurogamer’s earlier story: Bioware will deliver the last Mass Effect 2 content, Arrival, in just under two weeks. Although Bioware had recently been trickling screen shots out via their Facebook page, they had previously been silent on a release date and any real details. Arrival will be directly connected to the trilogy’s main plot regarding the imminent return of the ancient and deadly Reapers.
In this final Mass Effect 2 mission, Commander Shepard will be deployed to the edge of the galaxy in search of an undercover operative. The secret agent is rumored to have vital information regarding the inevitable Reaper onslaught that we got a peak at in Mass Effect 3’s teaser trailer. The only other solid game play information we got was that Admiral Hackett (voiced by Lance Henrik of Alien and Terminator fame) will be making an appearance in the DLC. Executive Producer Casey Hudson teased that Arrival “will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest.” This was already clear from the aforementioned trailer, but perhaps we’ll get to see how the Reapers have managed this after suffering major setbacks in the first two titles.
Arrival will cost $7 and comes with three new achievements or trophies for Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively. It will also be available for the PC when it releases on March 29.
