Dungeon Siege III Delayed

Square Enix "updates" the release date for Obsidian's next RPG.

Dungeon Siege III

Publisher Square Enix has released a statement explaining that the release date for Dungeon Siege III has been “updated.”  We here at MTB immediately broke out our Public Relations-to-English dictionaries and discovered that this meant the game has been delayed.  Originally scheduled for May, the game is now street dated for June 21 in North America and June 17 in Europe.  Those eagerly awaiting the game’s release can at least take solace in the brevity of this delay.

Square Enix CEO Mike Fischer commented that “Although the final polish phase has demanded a bit more time than originally planned, we want to assure fans and followers that the additional effort will allow us to deliver an action-RPG worthy of its rich heritage.”  With the release date coming up in just two and a half months, we’ll find out soon enough if the extra development time will pay off.
