Latest Call of Duty DLC Confirmed for May 3

The newest Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation Map Pack is now official. The popular "zombies" multiplayer mode receives a few upgrades.

Last Tuesday, a retailer leaked what appeared to be an ad for a new Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack. Today, Larry Hyrb has confirmed Escalation’s existence and details on his Major Nelson blog. The actual release date is May 3, but the five maps revealed last week are apparently right on the money.

In Multiplayer, battle it out in Hotel, on the roof of a Cuban luxury hotel and casino against the vivid backdrop of old Havana; Convoy delivers intense, close-quarters combat at the scene of an ambushed US military convoy; Zoo takes you on a wild ride in an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo, with danger at every turn; Stockpile pits players in a remote Russian farm town housing secret WMD facilities.

The fifth map, as expected, is a new playground for the game’s “Zombies” mode. Additionally, Escalation will include some new playable characters. No price was announced, but it seems likely that it will run at the same $15 that the previous Black Ops DLC was released at.
