Chrono Trigger Hitting the Virtual Console on Monday

Old school RPG fans rejoice - your excruciatingly long wait is almost over.

Fans have been demanding it for years, pretty much since the announcement of the Virtual Console (VC) itself. Now, it’s finally happening. On Monday, May 16, one of the most highly-regarded JRPGs of all time is coming to the Wii in North America. Publisher Square Enix made the official announcement today that their seminal SNES RPG, Chrono Trigger, will be sold on the VC for 800 points ($8).

Originally released in 1995, Chrono is a vast adventure that spans across multiple points in time. The decisions you make throughout the quest will alter the past, present, and future. The game has long been recognized as one of, if not the, best RPGs ever crafted. Its release will surely inject some much needed excitement back into Nintendo’s floundering VC.
