Deus Ex: Human Revolution Now Coming to Steam

Regular and "Augmented" editions of the shooter will be downloadable when the game launches in August.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Eidos-Montreal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution is now available for pre-order on Valve’s Steam service.  We know that they chose the partnership with Steam “because of its esteemed capability for an enhanced experience.”  What we don’t know, is whether or not publisher Square Enix intentionally made that horrible pun.

Regardless, Steam patrons can choose from either the standard or augmented version of the game.  The basic edition is currently going for $43.99, while the augmented edition will set you back $53.99.  Square says these prices will only be offered for a limited time, but did not say when the deal will expire.  Those extra ten smackers for the augmented version will net you “a digital 40–page art book, a ‘making of’ special, trailers, animated storyboard of the CGI trailer, motion graphic novel, soundtrack, and a free download of the Deus Ex Game of the Year Edition.”

Both versions will utilize Steamworks functionality.  That means that gamers can expect Steam Cloud Support, Steam Achievements and auto-updates.

When it releases on August 23, Human Revolution will also be sold in a traditional packaged version for the PC as well as the HD consoles.
