Trenched Releasing June 22

In Soviet Russia, trench charges you!

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

Double Fine has announced that they will be enlisting new troops for the Mobile Trench Brigade next month. The latest game from Tim Schafer’s studio, Trenched, will launch on XBLA on June 22 for 1200 MS points (fifteen of those crazy real world dollars). The oddball tower-defense game is set in an alternate WWI-era timeline and puts players inside walking, well, trenches.

Project Lead Brad Muir had this to say about the game: “You’re probably not even reading this part of the press release right now because we sent a video along with it. And honestly that’s fine; the video has all the information you need.” Wait, that’s not technically anything about the game, is it? Oh, they’re a crafty bunch over at Double Fine, they are.

If Muir’s ramblings don’t clue you in to how ridiculous this game looks to be, then just go ahead and watch the video. For more Trenched coverage, check out my hands-on impressions from PAX East.
