The mere announcement of Dragon Quest X was exciting enough or most fans. Releasing for the Nintendo Wii, there are high hopes for this game to follow the blueprint for success laid out by the DS games. But now, there’s even more incentive to look forward to its release. Square Enix has addressed the issue of whether or not the title will be compatible with the upcoming Nintendo Wii U at a recent shareholders’ meeting.
CEO Yoichi Wada was asked why he would bring a new game out on a system that was past its prime, and responded that Wii U compatibility will indeed be considered. It has the potential to be pretty cool, too; as long as it doesn’t end up as another Dragon Quest XVIII. Keep in mind that the game is definitely not being ported to the U. Instead, we can probably expect some form of tablet functionality to be present for those who play the game on Nintendo’s next platform.
