E3: Mirror’s Edge 2 Still in the Works

And there's a good chance it'll run on the Frostbite 2 engine.

It’s been nearly four years since Mirror’s Edge successfully delivered on its promise of a great platformer from a first-person view.  Since then, the chances of EA green-lighting a sequel have pretty much been all over the map.  But in an interview with GameTrailers, EA’s Frank Gibeau had this to say about a potential sequel: “We love that franchise.  The DICE guys really created something special the first time around.  You’ve got to have a big idea to be able to do the next one, and that’s what we’re working on.”

What’s more, it might use the same engine as the gorgeous Battlefield 3.  When Geoff Keighly of GameTrailers alluded to the possibility, Gibeau responded, “You’ll see that combination, I’m sure.”  Excellent urban platforming combined with amazing character animations?  Yes, please.
