Nintendo Admits it was Hacked

Thankfully, no personal information was stolen.

Now, I know that you’re only looking for news that contains the words “Electronic Entertainment Expo” right now but, believe it or not, news can still originate from outside Los Angeles this week.  Nintendo admitted to Reuters that they were hacked, but have stated that: “The server contained no consumer information. The protection of our customer information is our utmost priority.”  Continuing, Nintendo informed Reuters of their policy of constantly monitoring security.

The hacker group “Lulzsec” claimed responsibility for breaking into Nintendo’s servers yesterday on Twitter.   They took a file from them, but said “we didn’t mean any harm. Nintendo had already fixed it anyway”.  Lulzsec is the same group that previously hacked Sony Pictures, PBS and Fox.com.
