Payday: The Heist Breaking into the PSN

Downloadable robbery FPS announced; first footage shown off.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Overkill Software announced their latest title, Payday: The Heist, will be a FPS that tasks players with carrying out “the next big score”. You and three of your buddies — or AI partners — will set out on a crime spree of six high-stakes heists. The crimes will include bank robberies, prison breakouts and armored-car hijackings.

The game includes three different classes (assault, sharpshooter and support) for which there are different weapons and equipment to unlock that fit your “preferred form of violence”. Unlockables include trip mines, silenced pistols and machine guns. Payday will be on display over at Sony Online Entertainment’s booth at E3. We should get a better idea of the game’s quality then; but, in the meantime, we’ve got the first trailer for you below.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.
