Capcom Working on New PC Game

Inside: the first details on the developer's new IP, Ixion Saga.

Japanese magazine Famitsu has discovered that the previously unnamed PC project that Capcom has been working on is called Ixion Saga. Ixion is being designed as an 8 versus 8 “combat game” that arms players with magic, guns and swords before throwing them into battle. Each player will take up a class of Striker, Caster or Blaster (swords user, magic caster or gunslinger, respectively). You’ll form unions with other players and take them on in team PvP as well as face off against large AI monsters.

That’s all we’ve got for now, but more details are expected to seep out when the game’s 5,000 player Alpha test kicks off on July 28th. Ixion Saga is planned for a 2012 release.
