Recently a build of the early sections of Gears of War 3 made its way out to the internet. No one knows how exactly it made its way into the hands of the public, but it has put Microsoft and Epic Games on edge. They are currently investigating how the leak occurred and who might be behind it. Microsoft has also made statements saying that the portion of the game that got leaked is not from the final build of the shooter. However, there does seem to be a lot of early game spoilers which could potentially ruin some of Gears’ narrative and other elements for those who want to go in fresh. If you fall into that category you should definitely avoid looking up Gears of War 3 videos for a while, because they are probably spreading like wild fire through the internet right now. The strange part is that this is not the first time a big Microsoft published title has been leaked early.
In previous years Halo 3: ODST and Halo Reach were gobbled up by hackers and put on the web. This trend is not going so well for Microsoft, but it seems that the firm is just the latest victim in the string of gaming hacks that have taken place lately. It really makes a person stop and wonder what is gonna happen next. Hopefully Microsoft and Epic can recover from this, and find out who was behind the leak. I still suspect that, despite the leak, that Gears of War 3 is going to sell a ridiculous amount of copies when it comes out on September 20th.
