GTA V’s Lead Actor Purportedly Exposed

Is Ned Luke going to steal your car?

The Grand Theft Auto V debut trailer dropped about two weeks ago and fans of the series think they have already uncovered the voice actor behind the game’s protagonist, Albert De Silva. Figuring it out probably wasn’t as difficult as these things usually are, because actor Ned Luke’s IMDb page openly states that he is voicing the character.

The evidence doesn’t end there, either. Actor Jimmy Taenaka let the following slip out over Twitter: “my fellow thespian Ned Luke is the lead voice and profile in the upcoming game by Rockstar Grand Theft Auto 5! Way to go Ned! Wholly Molly!” Putting aside the fact that Taenaka wrote “wholly” instead of “holy,” his tweet states plain as day that Ned Luke – best known for his parts on soap operas and Law & Order – is the voice and face of Rockstar’s next sandbox blockbuster.

Taenaka didn’t stop there. His Twitter feed also features entries such as, “Grand Theft Auto V trailer with Ned Luke our homey as the LEAD!”

Surely that was the end of it, though, right? No, yet another tweet from the actor shies away from a solid confirmation but hints strongly that Luke is Rockstar’s guy: “@RockstarGames #GTAV looks awesome! it’s not official but I know that voice and look #NedLuke He is bigger & badder than Statham… lookout.”

Rockstar has yet to release any official comment on the matter, so we have to classify it as a rumor at this point, but it looks very much like this one is going to turn out to be accurate.
