Horde Command Pack Goes Free Nov 24th; RAAM’s Shadow Priced, Dated

Epic spills all the details on the two Gears of War 3 DLC packs.

Epic’s Gears of War 3 DLC Horde Command Pack went live earlier today after suffering a brief delay due to a “technical issue.” Gamers can download the pack for 800 Microsoft Points (MSP) right now, or they can wait until November 24th to get it for 0 MSP. That’s right: Epic will be giving the Horde Command maps away later this month for nothing at all as part of the “Versus Booster Map Pack.” Versus Booster will include Azura, Rustlung and Blood Drive from the Command Pack as well as Swamp and Clock Tower from the first game in the series.

What you won’t get with Versus Booster will surely convince more than a few to plunk down those 800 points, though. The November 24th DLC will not feature the 250 achievement points, extra characters, fortification upgrades or weapon skins. Still thinking about waiting?

If you are the waiting type then perhaps this next bit of news will get you excited. Epic has announced that the next piece of Gears DLC, RAAM’s Shadow, will release on December 13th at a cost of 1200 MSP. The developer is promising “more than three hours” of campaign-style gameplay in addition to 250 achievement points, new weapon skins, and six new multiplayer characters.
