Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Officially Announced for North America, Europe

The beginning of the end.

KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance]

In case the trailer that Square Enix released yesterday wasn’t telling enough of its inevitable release, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance has now been officially announced for North America and Europe in 2012. Until today it had only been announced for Japan.

Dream Drop Distance allows players to play as both Riku and Sora, two of the more well known protagonists of the Kingdom Hearts series. King Mickey and Yen Sid have sent both characters to the Sleeping Worlds in order to complete the Mark of Mystery exam. When this task is completed, they will be deemed true keyblade masters.

Both characters will fight alongside each other with the player against Dream Eaters, which consist of spirits and nightmares, within the Sleeping Worlds. Players can recruit up to 50 different types of spirits to aid them in battle against the nightmares. There will also be new areas to explore in the Disney universe including La Cite des Cloches (The Hunchback of Notre Dame).
