As we have previously detailed, Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken features something called the GEM system which the publisher says will “add an extra level of depth.” There are 57 GEMs all told, with 52 of them provide increases for five different stats (attack, defense, speed, cross gauge, vitality) and the remaining five will assist players in other ways.
Specific in-game actions will trigger some of the Boost GEMs. The example that Capcom gave was that a “speed Boost GEM will be activated automatically after a player blocks 2-3 stringed attacks from their opponent.” Players can try it out for themselves when the game releases on March 6, 2012 for PS3, 360, Vita and PC.
