Netflix is no longer going to add games to list of rentals. Back in September when Qwikster was first, CEO Reed Hastings said they would be adding video games to their by mail service as well. However, they are still offering Blu-ray and 3D discs.
Perhaps this is a good idea for Netflix because GameFly already has a solid foothold on the videogame-by-mail market. GameFly’s position is solidified by their addition of unlimited PC games for all members with a valid subscription. Perhaps Netflix has learned to stick to what they know and keep things simple.
