Syndicate, a re-imagining of the 90s series by the same name, will be releasing for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 mid to late February. Originally released on the Commodore Amiga and PC, it was originally a squad-based shooter. The updated version will be an up to four player co-operative game, which will have players creating their own Syndicates in order to demolish the competition.
In the year 2069, the world is split up into regions and controlled by three mega-corporations known as Syndicates. Players will act as agents of Wulf Western, the newly created fourth Syndicate. They will need to defeat the other three corporations by gaining their technology and headhunting their senior executives.
The demo will feature one of the nine missions in the game, all of which are compatible with up to four players. In the demo, players will need to infiltrate Cayman Global, one of the rival Syndicates. The Syndicate demo will be available for a limited time on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network. The game proper will be available on February 21st, 2012 in North America and February 24th, 2012 in Europe. Fans of the original game can buy it (for PC) on February 19th, 2012 via GOG.com for $5.99.
