Mashcast #3: Games are getting GaaSy
In the 2018 State of the Gaming Union, we discussed trends, but one we forgot to talk about was Games as a Service (GaaS for short). Ubisoft seems to be taking steps to cement GaaS as part of their business model, and if Ubisoft it doing it, it means the trend is in full effect. How will this affect Ubisoft directly? How will this affect the rest of the industry? What are the positives and negatives of GaaS on gamers and gaming communities?
