Jarret and Nick are back to talk about some of the gaming news they missed in the last few weeks. First, Nick talks about it being a long week and finally finding time to play a game but being unable to choose what to play, so he wound up playing Peggle. Jarret, meanwhile, has been continuing to play Cyberpunk 2077.

Development on Anthem Next has been cancelled. Jarret complains that this is unfair to the people who paid $60 deserve more. They talk about how other games have had subpar debuts and were able to recover. Nick calls Anthem a “looter shooter” and Jarret complains about the term, arguing it is a First-Person Dungeon Crawler.

More fallout from the CD Projekt Red hacking, as it has been revealed that employees have been locked out of their computer for over two weeks, affecting their ability to get patches out. Nick speculates that when the patches do come out, it could improve sales on the next gen consoles. He also mentions that Watchdog Legion’s multiplayer has been indefinitely delayed on PC.

Henry Cavill recently revealed that he has been cast as Commander Shepard in a Mass Effect movie. Cavill shared a picture of him reading a paper with blurred words, but the internet was able to unblur the words and determine it was a Mass Effect primer. Nick complains about Henry Cavill overexposure within the video game movie industry. Jarret asserts that Mass Effect’s branching narratives makes it the wrong choice of game for a movie or tv series adaptation.

Finally, Jarret talks about the Aliens: Fireteam CO-op PvE shooter announcement. He mentions the confusion stemming from the Colonial Marines poor launch in 2013. Jarret also talks about how there is an emerging genre of game in the Co-op PvE shooter space, with this and Rainbox Six: Quarantine (name to be changed), GTFO, and more establishing the market.

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
