We introduce our guest, esports journalist Briggsy, and discuss her history with gaming, Overwatch and Overwatch League. We talk about the modern OWL fan experience and the corresponding growth between players, teams, and fanbases.
We also cover this week’s trades and transfers, beginning with LA Valiant’s trading of (flex support) Izayaki to the Shanghai Dragons. We also discuss Guangzhou Charge’s trade of (DPS) KYB to the Philadelphia Fusion for (Main Tank) Fragi, and their trade for (Flex Tank) Bischu of the Los Angeles Gladiators. We also talk about Seoul Dynasty moving (DPS) Munchkin to their inactive roster, and give some follow up to our recent coverage of Stellar’s unretirement.
Next, we break down the Season 3 Localization announcement, analyzing the weekly, simultaneous Homestand format. We cover the formation of new divisions, as well as the speculate on the true goal of the impending move. We go on to discuss the Season 3 schedule format, talking about the intense travel and probable burnout to come for OWL players.
