Jarret and Nick are back and this week are joined by Kurabara who has a funny story about how he got himself a PS5. But first, Kurabara talks about all the games he’s been playing. Nick talks about beating Shadow of the Colossus with a 4 year old, and Jarret talks about playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Kura gets into the specifics of his Playstation. The console is massive. They talk a little about framerates. Jarret is surprised at how little disk space is actually available on the 1 TB version after the OS is accounted for. Kura talks about the controllers and the HDMI cables and installing games. Overall, the console is impressive.

Jarret brings up articles about people who have experienced issues with their PS5’s, mostly due to rest mode. Either the PS5 needs to rebuild its image after a bad power down, or the console winds up bricked. Jarret reads off a list of events that have caused PS5’s to brick and they are common features like losing power and using an external drive.

A co-founder of Rockstar Games has started an app called Stakester that lets you gamble on yourself when you play games. Nick tries to claim it is not gambling but Jarret correctly compares it to pool hustling. They wonder about some of the logistics that make this such a risky idea.

A vice.com article described one reporter’s journey to being entranced by 60 FPS. They talk about how some games are pre-set to performance and some are set to fidelity and how fidelity often does not look as good.

IO Interactive announced a new James Bond game. Jarret and Kurabara are looking forward to it.

Jarret Redding

Jarret is Executive Director as well as one of the founding members of Mash Those Buttons. He plays all types of games, but tends to lean more toward FPS, Stealth, and Combat games.

Nick Zielenkievicz

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
