Apologies for the late episode! Hurricane Irma has Katie helping a friend and left Nick without power briefly, but now that its back, he was able to record an episode by himself. Blizzard has released a charity pet to help victims of the recent hurricanes, Shadow a light/void fox, and Nick talks about how the pet is a sign of things to come. It was supposed to be announced at Blizzcon, when we should be getting a new expansion announcement, and this is our first look at new content from that expansion.

The light/void theme will continue beyond Argus, and it has a collar that looks similar to Jaina’s jewelry, possibly suggesting Kul’Tirais. Nick then talks about his theory that Argus was supposed to be the next expansion, but after Blizzard started development on it, they changed tack and made it a patch that was loaded with tons of content. It will be interesting to see where we go next. Nick then discusses Alleria and her connection to the void, and speculates on how that could influence her relationship with Sylvanas, which is one of the most important character interactions we have yet to see.

Finally, Nick talks about how he’s been playing Destiny 2, and how that got him thinking about whether or not WoW is fun. He discusses his thoughts on how the gameplay is not as fun as punching someone in the face in Destiny, but then talks about the Lucid Nightmare and the secret discord as a counter argument. He compares bowling to raiding and comes to the conclusion that it is WoW’s social aspect that makes the game fun. Thank you for listening to this solo episode of The Tauren & the Goblin. Katie will be back next time to talk more about her experience getting the Lucid Nightmare.

Hosts

Nick Zielenkievicz

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.

Katie Grace

Katie is a long time gamer who has fallen in love with multiple genres. She started young by playing Nintendo 64, Spyro, and Blizzard games such as Warcraft II with family, then eventually moved into playing games in both my leisure time and as a occupation. She loves being immersed in different universes and exploring the characters that live in them, as well as just playing games for a good time.
