On The Running of the Gnomes
Nick & Katie welcome Dravvie to talk about this weekend's Running of the Gnomes!...
As Blizzard decided to go and release and audio drama about Turalyon and Alleria the day after Nick and Katie just got together to talk about Turalyon and Alleria, the only logical thing to do was the continue the discussion. First, Katie reminds everyone it’s Happy Brewfest, and then Nick and Katie go over some feedback from Alisaunder, discussing the Old Gods and Magni. The Old Gods most likely aren’t working together, and if Magni is compromised, its difficult to know at what level the Old Gods are manipulating him. They start talking about the Old Gods remaking the world, and this leads to a discussion of relative time as relayed through the Audio Drama. Could the fact that we’re on Argus for a month translate to a vast amount of time passing on Azeroth? Is this how we get Old Man Anduin leading the Army of the Light?
Finally, it is time to discuss the audio drama. It picks up where Warcraft II left off, and shows Turalyon and Alleria being welcomed into the Army of the Light by Lothraxion, the (light-corrupted?) dreadlord from the paladin class hall. This leads to a discussion about how Turalyon has become one with the Light, and how that has blinded him to aspects of the Void that he cannot see. The Light is presented as somewhat myopic and fallable, and this leads to a discussion of how this knowledge could impact relgion back on Azeroth, as the foundation of the dominant religions is proven somewhat lacking. This also leads to speculation about Illidan’s destiny, as he was able to destory Xe’ra, because the Light was unable to see that part of his destiny. Instead, he will wind up a Champion of the Light someday, but his path will not be the one Xe’ra expected. There is also comparisons made between Alleria with her Void connection and Sylvanas. Alleria and Sylvanas have both touched the Void, but Alleria went willingly. Will she be able to help her sister come to terms with the end of existence?
Finally, the duo delves into spoilers from patch 7.3.2. In particular, a map that reveals a major spoiler. Nick and Katie are excited ot see just how that is caused, and Nick says he hopes that the end cinematic for Legion leads into the opening cinematic for 8.0, and that it is shown as Blizzcon. This leads to Nick discussing his latest theory for Jaina and Kul’Tiras in the next expansion.
Thank you for listening to The Tauren & the Goblin! We will return next week with our regularly scheduled episode.
Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
Katie is a long time gamer who has fallen in love with multiple genres. She started young by playing Nintendo 64, Spyro, and Blizzard games such as Warcraft II with family, then eventually moved into playing games in both my leisure time and as a occupation. She loves being immersed in different universes and exploring the characters that live in them, as well as just playing games for a good time.
The Virtua Fighter Project, Clive in Tekken 8, more GG Strive Balanace Incoming, and FGC Tournament Standards
Siren's Isle is upon us! Come take the Patch 11.0.7 quiz to see how prepared you are! Also, Eric hates PUGs.
We talk about what's going on with the Felcycles, and we've been playing some Mythic+ and Classic. And The Old Republic?
A heaping helping of banter mixed in with reviewing the level 93 trial of Dawntrail's MSQ. Also candy discourse.
