Jaa is back, and just in time for placement matches (on Xbox at least). After a short offseason, Competitive mode is back with season 3. This season Blizzard is hoping to fix the mess they made with placements and matchmaking during season 2. Jaa talks about how he faired with his placement matches, as well as concerns and complaints coming from the community. It appears many didn’t get the memo about the changes to the competitive bell curve, and some are feeling a bit tilted because they are still being placed low due to their final S2 SR, even though they did good in placement matches. Unfortunately, somethings got to give, and it looks like low ranking players from last season will just need to try to climb their way up the ladder for season 3.

Also we talk about the latest trend in protest picking. Players frustrated with their teams and trolls seem to be making bad picks out of protest, which has no place in competitive mode. Additionally, we talk about Jeff Kaplan’s response to some suggested changes to leaver penalties, and come up with a few of our own. Before that, we do get a chance to talk about the new map, Oasis, and what we like and disliked about it. All that and more on this episode of Watchpoint Radio.
