Nick, Rei, and Eric are back for the latest episode of WoW! Talk! This week, Nick was finally able to join Rei and Eric to see the end of Antorus. He also pre-ordered the expansion and rolled an allied race character. Also, he is in the beta, and comments on how the beta seems primed to segregate players by faction.
YepX sent in a forum post to discuss. This was about bringing Hearthstone and other lore sources into the game through updates, and adding a micro-holiday in Gadgetzan that would enable player-based bounty hunting. Eric and Rei approved of the idea, but Nick was super enthusiastic because of his history with Star Wars Galaxies.
The beta is live and classes are locked (mostly), but there are no real complaints at this time. Ion and Josh did a developer Q&A this week, and Ion upset many people with his answer about High Elves not being able to join the Alliance as an allied race. Nick points out that Vareesa contradicts that. Also, the gang discusses the rate of final raidboss kills over the last two patches, and speculates that people will be starting to come back soon for the introduction to the next expansion. Eric rants about running LFR with new other players trying to fill the tank role.
Nick takes a quick look back at episode #6, which leads to a discussion about character names across lats. He suddenly remembers to mention that Ashran and Strand of the Ancients are going away in BfA, which is disappointing for anyone looking to get the associated achievements. Nick mentions he wants to get his Warlord of Draenor title, but killing 500 characters of each race was a challenging undertaking back when Ashran was current. Now, with reduced populations, Ashran should be ever harder to kill all those characters, and Nick wonders if it is worth it.
