On Patch 8.2
The gang talks about Mechagon and Nazjatar and the Sylverian Dreamer!...
The gang is back this week with a long one! First, Order of Corrupted Souls has beaten Heroic Crucible of Storms! With AotC achieved, Nick asks if they feel that mechanics for the game are getting too complicated compared to back in the day. Rei talks about the difficulty of building her guild and how she did so after coming from Guild Wars.
Joanna was nice enough to give us a shout out on facebook, so we mentioned her comment and thanked her!
In the news, Blizzard may have inadvertently announced that the next expansion will feature a level squish. Nick argues that leveling hasn’t felt good since vanilla and was never intended to scale this way. Harv says it feels fine and doesn’t expect the squish to fundamentally change anything. Nick talks about the difficulties Ion has trying to balance a game with such old legacy systems, and Eric brings up the Dev Insight interview that Ion did where he claimed that they’ve done too much pruning. Nick talks about the cyclical nature of WoW development. He brings up Pat Krane’s suggestion for how to fix leveling, but doesn’t know if Blizzard can or will fix the system. Overall, the gang will focus on max level content and be unaffected by the squish.
Also, the community was concerned when Blizzard announced a nerf in Patch 8.2 to experience when grouping with someone who has experience turned off. Other players in the group would get a 95% reduction on experience earned, to prevent low-level players from power-leveling other players, due to level scaling. This will not apply to randomly formed groups, which addressed the main issue of the community.
Then, its time for the Patch 8.2 quiz! Good luck guessing the winner at the start of the quiz, and Nick tests the gang’s knowledge on what content will and will not be in the patch.
Finally, Nick mentions the other news of the day: classic stress tests went well, Patty Matson updated Lament of the Highborne, IKEdit updated The Fall of the Lich King trailer, and Blizzard released a Mechagon comic. The gang then looked back at episode #35 when we talked about 90’s music and Ravenholdt was the big concern.

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
Rei is the 1 of the 5 SEELE members and the Ops Director at MTB. She enjoys anime, baking, cooking, gaming ( fighting, puzzle, rhythm, RPGs ), and spending WAY too much time working on spreadsheets. Current Games: Tales of Crestoria, WoW
Auto mechanic, car enthusiast, gamer, runner and almost never serious, Eric has been ditching responsibilities and gaming since age 7. His favorite genres are FPS and racing, although most of his game time is currently spent on WoW
Chris has been playing World of Warcraft since 2007. When he's not playing his hunter in Azeroth, he's probably playing one of his many alt hunters. If not doing that, he's probably playing a different hunter.
The Virtua Fighter Project, Clive in Tekken 8, more GG Strive Balanace Incoming, and FGC Tournament Standards
Siren's Isle is upon us! Come take the Patch 11.0.7 quiz to see how prepared you are! Also, Eric hates PUGs.
We talk about what's going on with the Felcycles, and we've been playing some Mythic+ and Classic. And The Old Republic?
A heaping helping of banter mixed in with reviewing the level 93 trial of Dawntrail's MSQ. Also candy discourse.
