We begin this week’s show by talking about the recent surge in activity from several of OWL’s Chinese teams, as the Chengdu Hunters and Hangzhou Spark announced newly signed support duos and coaching staff. We discuss the interest surrounding some of these particular announcements, and what we expect to see from them in 2020. We also discuss the recent announcements from the LA Valiant, as they finally announce the signing of KSP. Lastly, we discuss the Shanghai Dragons’ recent promotion of Fearless from Team CC, and the subsequent release and retirement of Envy.
We move on to further broadcast talent news, as Montecristo finds an organizational home and Semmler and Malik depart from the league. We talk about the 2 personalities time in OWL, what they brought to the producation, and discuss what their careers may hold next. We also discuss new information from a recent interview with Commissioner Pete Vlastelica regarding talent departures, the OWL news narrative, and expectations for Season 3. We go on to talk about the recently announced GOAT Brigette skin and honor the career of Coolmatt, who retired to a staff position for the Outlaws this week.
Lastly, we discuss the recent color scheme changes for the Valiant, Mayhem, and Shock, and discuss an exciting new jersey collaboration between OWL and noted streetwear designer Jeff Staple. We also discuss the reveal of “Homestand Sprays” and how similar drops could bolster OWL promotion.
