Jarret and Nick are back to talk about the latest in gaming news! First, Jarret talks about his time spent playing Ghostrunner, and how that has changed since earlier this year.

Next, Jarret brings up the Cyberpunk 2077 delay to December 10th. Nick talks about how this may have been an issue with the certification of the 0-day patch, while Jarret argues that there are so many games coming out it should be pushed to next year. Jarret also brings up the Game Awards and how Cyberpunk will now be eligible for next year’s Awards. Jarret thinks this is bad because of how technology keeps advancing games, but Nick thinks this is great news for Hades or The Last of Us 2. Nick admits he has not played The Witcher III.

Jarret also mentions that a Dutch judge has levied a fine of 500,000 euros on EA for using loot boxes in FIFA. EA maintains that they aren’t doing anything wrong, but Jarret and Nick argue over whether loot box regulation is even necessary as loot boxes seem to be naturally disappearing from games. They wonder how this fine will affect EA’s business model.

After praising Paul Tassi at Forbes, the duo discuss the recent developer blog from the Anthem team updating changes to the game. They like what they see but are sceptical it will ever make it to the live game.

Phil Spencer recently claimed in an interview that they aren’t trying to turn everyone into subscribers, so the pair consider the Game Pass revenue model and ponder the future of the service.

Netflix has announced it is partnering with Ubisoft for an Assassin’s Creed Show. Jarret is critical as he is a fan of Assassin’s Creed. Both he and Nick agree the show won’t last more than two seasons.

Hosts

Jarret Redding

Jarret is Executive Director as well as one of the founding members of Mash Those Buttons. He plays all types of games, but tends to lean more toward FPS, Stealth, and Combat games.

Nick Zielenkievicz

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
