Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Gameplay Trailer Released

'Visions' Trailer showcases the Kingdom of Amalur's combat and eye catching visuals.

The first gameplay trailer for Big Huge Games’ and 38 Studios’ Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was released today, and it looks quite promising.  Most of the footage focuses on a variety of combat types (ranged, melee and magic) and gives viewers a peek at the game’s beautiful fantasy environments.  While the footage rolls, a prophet prattles on about in-game events that have yet to pass.  It wraps up with some crazy duel and glowing sword stabbing action before abruptly fading to black.  The battles depicted are impressive and everything looks fantastic from a visual stand point.

For the uninitiated, Reckoning is a single-player RPG tentatively scheduled for a release sometime in 2012.   It is being developed by a team that boasts best-selling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and former Elder Scrolls Lead Designer Ken Rolston.  It is the first title in what will become a larger series as an MMO is also in the works.  For more details on the game, check out Rob Allegretti’s impressions of the game from PAX East.
