Battlefield 3. Lots of people are getting pumped for this game and I’m no exception. Today whilst strolling through the Battlefield blog to see if I couldn’t gather some good information, I found an article containing new information about the upcoming map pack for Battlefield 3. The map pack , which is available free to pre-ordering customers, will contain more than just the “Strike at Karkand,” but will also contain the maps for Sharqi Peninsula and Gulf of Oman all remade with the Frostbite 2 engine.
These maps, if the site’s concept art is any indicator, bring me back to those heady Battlefield 2 days. As I look at the concept art, I can clearly remember playing through exact portions of those maps many times and its definitely invoking some nostalgia. The developer says that the plan is to make the map pack to be every bit as large and as powerful as the Bad Company 2 expansion for Vietnam. Though the date for Battlefield 3 hasn’t been finalized yet, that doesn’t stop us from wanting it now!
