Star Wars: The Old Republic Releasing December 20

BioWare reveals the release date and subscription plans for its MMO.

 
After much hemming and hawing from EA and plenty of speculation from the fan base, the release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic has finally been announced. BioWare’s MMO will hit the market in the North America on December 20th with a European release following two days later on December 22nd. Cancel your Christmas plans.

“This is an incredible moment for everyone at BioWare and our partners at LucasArts who have dedicated their lives to build [sic] this extraordinary game.,” BioWare co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka said during the 2011 Eurogamer Expo in London today. “We appreciate the patience from the millions of fans who have been waiting for the game’s release.” All copies will have a 30 day subscription packed in. After the first month expires, the following subscription plans will be offered:
 

  • 1 Month Subscription: $14.99 (£8.99/€12.99)
  • 3 Month Subscription: $13.99 per month (one-time charge of $41.97/£25.17/€35.97)
  • 6 Month Subscription: $12.99 per month (one-time charge of $77.94/£46.14/€65.94)

 
Gamers who preordered have eligibility for early access to the title. Those who have yet to do so can still place a reserve over on the game’s official web site.
