Overwatch League Week 21 (2020)
Lots to cover as the Titans and Justice squeak into tournament play and Genji returns to play. We're recapping this week's games as we enter the Summer Showdown! Available everywhere now! #OWL2020...
We begin with a recap of several big Contenders pickups, including Kevster and Onigod from Team Doge, and QoQ from Runaway and T1. We take a brief look at these players’ journeys before Overwatch League and how they stand to benefit their new squads. We also take a look at some organizational moves from the Hangzhou Spark as main tank Guxue and flex support Coldest begin play from China and the team officially cuts estraged DPS player Krystal from the roster.
Next, we break down this week’s games, taking a look at both the APAC and NA divisions. We break down the Asia region’s weekend of close competition as the Spark see new life, while other squads struggle for consistency. Then, we move to NA where break down a weekend of dominant performances from both normal contenders life the San Francisco Shock and surprising underdogs like the Houston Outlaws. We break down the results of each matchups as well as our most notable player debuts and performances.
Next, we look at the coming week’s games as we enter the final week of qualifiers for the Summer Showdown tournament. We also look at some other Overwatch news, including coming Genji buffs, a new community tourney from Fran, and new drama regarding the Dallas Fuel and the head coach of the Atlanta Reign.
