The Tauren & The Goblin #96: On Loremaster feat. Frazley, Loremaster of Guests

June 3rd, 2020

Frazley from Stories Around Azeroth, The Frazlcast, The Converted Podcast, The Frazley Report, Be Great Today, and more is here to talk about working on getting Loremaster! But first, he and Katie discuss their recent D&D session together. They talk about Katie playing a Dragonborn and not having darkvision and Frazley playing a gnome (of course!) and some of their shenanigans. They also talk about the joys of learning how to play D&D and the fun that can come from not knowing what you’re doing. Katie goes in depth on the time she was able to tame a manticore.

Finally, Frazley talks about leveling alts. Katie mentions that her guild You Had One Job defeated N’Zoth without her. Nick talks about how he was trying to level through Warlords of Draenor in the alpha but he was doing it wrong.

The trio gets into discussing Frazley going for loremaster, and they talk about some of their favorite zones to level through. They get into a discussion of where they think the game is going. Frazley theorizes about N’Zoth’s real fate, and they riff on Sylvanas being reincarnated as a gnome. They look at how Cataclysm changed the game and the questing experience. Frazley mentions his struggles leveling through Burning Crusade. Katie reminisces about enjoying Northrend. Nick considers how Blizzard’s sliding narrative has helped the game and will ensure that it will never run out of content. They consider whether the game should travel to someplace completely new or expand lore for existing content.

Hosts

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.

Katie is a long time gamer who has fallen in love with multiple genres. She started young by playing Nintendo 64, Spyro, and Blizzard games such as Warcraft II with family, then eventually moved into playing games in both my leisure time and as a occupation. She loves being immersed in different universes and exploring the characters that live in them, as well as just playing games for a good time.
