Heroic Xavius and Artifact Power Caps
The gang discusses defeating Heroic Xavius, the struggle for more artifact power, and Patch 7.1.5....
Jeremy is back to join the WoW! Talk! gang and he brought his third relic with him, so congratulations are in order. He’s also returned with another legendary drop, as legendaries abound now. Rei, Eric, and Jer discuss progression raiding, and when to bench someone as opposed to carrying them through a lower difficulty. Jer then helps Nick discover that the Armory is broken when displaying Legendaries. The gang discusses the many bugs of the last few weeks, starting with the AP exploit that allowed some people to infinitely farm artifact power by repeating a single world quest. Blizzard banned people for exploiting, but did not remove the AP gained, although they have since promised to do so. Also, players were upset because there was softcap applied to legendaries after earning your fourth, when bad-luck protection would stop triggering to ensure that you would be ever-more likely to earn your next one, as opposed to forever suffering with pure RNG.
Players noticed they were not getting their fifth legendary as quickly as they should, and Blizzard responding by admitting to the softcap and removing it, so that bad-luck RNG would allow players to keep earning legendaries in perpetuity. Mythic Helya was also bugged, as guilds like Exorsus used the bug to defeat her, only to have their kill redacted once it was clear they were exploiting. And this weekend’s Kirin Tor quest was broken, as there were at most three quests available when four were needed to complete it. Nick rants about how while these bugs are valid, players need to calm down and stop fretting about how other people are progressing comparatively. Relax, people!
Also in the news: Legion class changes in 7.1.5 were discussed, Chris Metzen talked about his mental state with Scott Johnson in a highly recommended podcast, we learn what micro-holidays Blizzard is planning, and WoW’s 12th Anniversary has been going on. All this and more on this week’s WoW! Talk!
Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
Rei is the 1 of the 5 SEELE members and the Ops Director at MTB. She enjoys anime, baking, cooking, gaming ( fighting, puzzle, rhythm, RPGs ), and spending WAY too much time working on spreadsheets. Current Games: Tales of Crestoria, WoW
Jeremy handles assets for the writing team and co-hosts the WoW! Talk! Podcast. When he isn't busy reading up on things related to, or raiding as a rogue on WoW, he's busy playing Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night over and over. He currently looks forward to when Samus and Alucard both have a new 2D side-scrolling adventure to burn through. He may be waiting a while, though.
Auto mechanic, car enthusiast, gamer, runner and almost never serious, Eric has been ditching responsibilities and gaming since age 7. His favorite genres are FPS and racing, although most of his game time is currently spent on WoW
