The gang gets off-topic answering emails and debates playable murlocs....
Rei and Eric start us off this week by talking about how raid attendance has suffered lately. Nick wonders if there is an age limit on expansion content, as normally we’d have started the end of expansion content drought by now. Rei and Nick discuss how to implement and maintain a culture change in a guild, and it involves kicking out anyone who won’t buy in. Brewfest is also going on right now and Rei’s been busy working on getting it while Nick reminisces about his first time drinking in game.
Alisaunder emailed in in response to our discussion of arenas from a few episodes ago. Her email leads to discussion about Blizzard implementing a PUBG-style battleground in WoW, which everyone thinks would be worth a try, and it makes sense for it to happen since surely a few Blizzard developers are playing PUBG. Nick mixes genres and suggests Blizzard make a PUBG style dating sim. Nick and Rei briefly discuss Dream Daddy.
With Blizzcon coming up, Nick brings up two recent announcements by Blizzard that hint at what we might see. First, Blizzard announced that there will not be a major Diablo announcement, essentially informing players not to expect Diablo IV or any Diablo III expansions. Nick suggests that since there has been no advisory to Warcraft fans, then we are all but assured there will be an expansion announcement at Blizzcon. Blizzard also posted and then removed a job posting for a mobile MMO RTS designer. This leads to speculation about what else Blizzard could be announcing at Blizzcon.
Earlier this week, Nick got into a twitter discussion about the possibility of WoW 2 happening, and he brings it up with Eric and Rei. They look at Blizzard’s reluctance to split the player base, and how Blizzard has incrementally improved the game such that WoW 2 is already part of WoW, and decided — THAT JARRET IS RIGHT.
Also in the news, A Thousand Years of War is the new audio drama about Turalyon and Alleria. Blizzard updated the battle.net chat client and released a mobile version for android. Rei convinces Nick that he cannot lie to hide with this. Finally, congratulations to Free Mersy for winning the Mythic Dungeon Invitational.
Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
Rei is the 1 of the 5 SEELE members and the Ops Director at MTB. She enjoys anime, baking, cooking, gaming ( fighting, puzzle, rhythm, RPGs ), and spending WAY too much time working on spreadsheets. Current Games: Tales of Crestoria, WoW
Auto mechanic, car enthusiast, gamer, runner and almost never serious, Eric has been ditching responsibilities and gaming since age 7. His favorite genres are FPS and racing, although most of his game time is currently spent on WoW
We finally sink our teeth into Andromeda, evaluate the systems and try to determine who is the Jenkins.
Jinx update, Guilty Gear Strive 3v3 2nd beta, Capcom Cup XII announcement, new characters in Multiversus.
