The Patch 7.2.5 Quiz (with All the Drinks)
Join us for the Patch 7.2.5 Quiz. Compete with Rei and Eric over what is coming....
Its Eric’s Birthday, and he begins by sharing the news that he and Rei (along with their guild) were able to down Heroic Gul’dan. Congrats on getting Ahead of the Curve! Nick wrongly thinks there is a mount associated with the achievement. Nick finally got his warlock to level 110, and as much as he likes the Demonology skull artifact, he also really likes the Destruction Sceptre of Sargeras. He then discusses how his Death Knight was able to hit Prestige Level 1 with a minimal amount of PVP, and how he was confused about not getting the PVP artifact appearance because it basically requires prestige Level 2.
Alisaunder emailed in to ask about the news that Christie Golden is working for Blizzard. Nick agrees that we need to hear more about the story of the rest of the world during Legion. YepX emailed in about professions and how engineering isn’t great for making money. Rei said it is but you need to log in daily to put the time in. Nick argued that herbalism and mining is where the money is, and that crafting is a wash. He admits that he’s never made money on his leatherworker, but he also doesn’t play the auction house as well as he should. Rei uses the app to keep cycling her auctions to make sure the money keeps rolling in. Eric mentions that he does some fishing, and this leads to a discussion of the secret fishing faction on the island off Dalaran where Eric was able to get his catfish mount.
The main topic this week is that Destiny 2 will be available on battle.net. Nick complains first that Mike Morhaime killed the name Blizzard Launcher by calling it battle.net in the Destiny presentation. He then compares Steam and the Blizzard App, saying that Steam is much more a store and a portal than the Blizzard App is. Nick also complains about the price of the WoW Token going up about 20K overall as a result of this news. He then points out that because Activision is getting $80 for every $60 purchase of Destiny 2 with WoW Tokens (because a WoW Token costs $20 to be redeemed for $15 in battle.net balance), he believes that this is going to lead to Call of Duty and other Activision games coming to the Blizzard App. He also talks about Destiny characters showing up in Heroes of the Storm, and realizes that seeing Ikora Rey and Gul’dan argue about who is a real warlock might be worth it.
Finally, in the news:
-Artifact Knowledge only goes to level 40 instead of 50
-Serenity disbanded
-Blizzard posted about the Anduin cinematic
-Squirky is a new murloc pet available in game and as a plushie
-Blizzard posted a preview of the Tomb of Sargeras raid
Thanks for listening to WoW! Talk! 82. Happy Birthday, Eric!
Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
Rei is the 1 of the 5 SEELE members and the Ops Director at MTB. She enjoys anime, baking, cooking, gaming ( fighting, puzzle, rhythm, RPGs ), and spending WAY too much time working on spreadsheets. Current Games: Tales of Crestoria, WoW
Auto mechanic, car enthusiast, gamer, runner and almost never serious, Eric has been ditching responsibilities and gaming since age 7. His favorite genres are FPS and racing, although most of his game time is currently spent on WoW
The Virtua Fighter Project, Clive in Tekken 8, more GG Strive Balanace Incoming, and FGC Tournament Standards
Siren's Isle is upon us! Come take the Patch 11.0.7 quiz to see how prepared you are! Also, Eric hates PUGs.
We talk about what's going on with the Felcycles, and we've been playing some Mythic+ and Classic. And The Old Republic?
A heaping helping of banter mixed in with reviewing the level 93 trial of Dawntrail's MSQ. Also candy discourse.
