Okay, so the title may be overstating things. It’s almost a certainty that Valve is working on Half-Life… it’s just that they’re not saying anything in public about it. Still, when this ran across my Google+ stream from Gary Whitta (former EIC of PC Gamer magazine and current writer of Hollywood movies), I just knew I had to share it.
To make a long story short, last night Chandana Ekanayake (of Uber Entertainment) tweeted, “All I’m saying is I saw this at a local game developer event worn by a Valve employee. #HalfLife3 #ValveTrolling” And that statement was accompanied by this picture:
Now I know that isn’t really a tacit admission of anything, but maybe it means we’re a step closer to something more tangible? Who knows. I’m a bit torn, though; I personally choose to not see it as Valve trolling the whole planet, but as much as I’d like to read more into the situation beyond the existence of a shirt, I can’t. It’s nice to know that Valve hasn’t forgotten about the game, and maybe there’ll be a real announcement soon. Remember, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive did get announced out of nowhere…
