E3: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Trailer

Many RPGs fail because their combat systems are boring. From the looks of things, that's not going to be an issue for Amalur.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

38 Studios and Big Huge Games want to secure a seat at the big boys’ RPG table for Kingdoms of Amalur.  So far they’ve done an admirable job of making headway there, and the game’s latest trailer certainly isn’t doing it any disservice.  If there’s one takeaway here, it’s what the devs have been trying to tell us all along: this game has fantastic combat.  Of course I haven’t actually played it, but it looks fantastic.  Hopefully the rest of the game is up to par with the sweet combat mechanics, because it takes more than one great element to make a AAA RPG.
