Right before a little announcement was made, Valve released the penultimate in its series of ‘Meet the Team‘ videos, featuring the Medic. The series started back in 2007 as a way for Valve to test the capabilities of the Source engine, introduce new gameplay elements, highlight new game releases, and expand the character of the Team Fortress 2 universe. The videos started with ‘Meet the Heavy‘, and have since featured eight of the nine classes, those guys with the funny earphones, and…a sandwich. The videos – and the Team Fortress 2 universe itself – are a tongue in cheek look at life and death on the battlefield, and the ‘Meet the Medic ‘video is no different.
While the Medic bends (or breaks) the Hippocratic oath as he sees fit to satisfy his curiosity, we get an inside look a the creation of his most iconic element – the Ubercharge. Those with weak constitutions for digital violence may wish to look elsewhere, for here there be open body surgery, blood and guts, doves behaving oddly, and hilarity abounds. Meet the Medic and his complete disregard of doing no harm.
